Quechee General Store

This specialty retail store is operated as an S-Corporation and was acquired by the current owners in 2020. Prior to that the store was a general store until 2012 when it became a specialty food store satellite of a larger company. The owners approached the current owner in 2020 to let her know that they were not going to continue with the store, so she took over the space and created the store that now exists on the site. The store features local Vermont-made products, wines, beers, craft ciders, ice cream, steamed hot dogs, maple Chex mix, apple cider donuts, and product tastings. The store also serves as both a welcoming general store and as a “Village Concierge”.
The store is located in a high-traffic, tourism-driven area in Vermont, on one of the busiest non-interstate routes in Vermont, with traffic counts over 9000 daily and is within walking distance of popular natural attractions.
The space that the store occupies was reimagined during COVID, widening aisles, improving flow, and taking their vendor partnerships from 20 to over 50. The business is fully modernized with a Square-integrated website, allowing for online and phone orders. Their social media presence and customer outreach continue to grow, supported by strong regional press, including a six-page Woodstock Magazine spread and upcoming inclusion in the 2025 Vermont Tourism Video campaign.
