Drilling Prospect
Volcanic Mound Prospect, Central Texas
The primary objective of the Volcanic Mound Prospect is “serpentine” reservoir rock likely similar to that seen in the nearby Kens Field area where over 200’ of serpentine with high porosity had initial rates of over 80 BOPD and cumulative oil production of over 40,000 bbl per well. The secondary objective is associated “beach rock”, also known as “Dale Lime”, which is reef and detrital sediments that typically formed on the shores of these Late Cretaceous aged volcanic islands during and immediately after their extrusion on the shallow ocean floor. The Volcanic Mound Prospect, defined by favorable seismic, magnetic, and geochem data, occurs at an approximate depth of 3,500, and has never been drilled. A 250 acre tract contains the crest, initial proposed location, and likely several offset development locations.
