North America’s largest automation trade association (robotics, vision, motion). A3 helps punching/press operations automate material handling, feeding, safety and QC, and represents more than 1,300 organizations.

Professional society for steel producers, suppliers, academics and students — relevant to punching through sheet steel quality, processing and applications. AIST reports 16,600 members from 70+ countries.

CECIMO – The European Association of the Machine Tool Industries

Umbrella organization for Europe’s machine tool industries and related manufacturing technologies, including punching, shearing and press systems. CECIMO comprises 15 national associations representing about 1,500 enterprises.

China’s national association for machine tools and tooling — spanning metal forming, presses, punching and automation. CMTBA has more than 2,100 member enterprises.

U.S.-based association for metal forming and fabricating (sheet metal, stamping, pressroom). FMA co-sponsors FABTECH and supports training that benefits punching operations. The community includes 2,500+ members.

India’s apex body for machine tools (including metal forming and IMTEX FORMING), connecting punching/press OEMs and users. IMTMA lists 484 member companies.

Japan Forming Machinery Association (JFMA)
