The Van Oil Field in Van Zandt County produces out of the Woodbine formation and several other formations in the under their lease. It was discovered in 1929 and is producing in 2025.
Potential of the Woodbine Production:
Exxon-Mobil has developed a 160 acre Woodbine lease in the Van Oil Field that has produced 26 million barrels from 20 wells out of the Woodbine formation. The depth of the Woodbine in their lease is at plus or minus 2,500'. Our Woodbine prospect is in this depth range.
